Netfilix Top 100 - 72 - Doubt

I saw the play "Doubt" when it first debuted in Los Angeles and it was good, but I actually think the movie is better. It's the same subject matter and dialogue but the performance are superior to those of the play. Meryl Streep is brilliant as Sister Aloysius and Phillip Seymour Hoffman is just as good playing Father Flynn.

The play has a lot of implied intention in it's dialogue as does the movie but the emotions are better conveyed on screen. The whole point of the movie is Sister Aloysius' doubt regarding Father Flynn's relationship with one of his students. She questions his intentions and in doing so begins to doubt many of the people involved with the church. It is a well written and well acted movie which is worth adding to your queue. Just Queue It!
