Joaquin Phoenix can act! Finally, the little brother of River Phoenix shows his acting chops as he took on the role of a life time in playing county music legend Johnny Cash. This is a great portrayal of Cash's tortured life from salesman to music superstar. Reese Witherspoon plays Cash's longtime love interest and second wife June Carter Cash, and her performance is absolutely brilliant. So good in fact, she won the Oscar for best actress. We get to see deep into the darker side of Cash, his addiction to drugs, and his failed first marriage. Both Phoenix and Witherspoon are awesome and the supporting caste is terrific as well. The music in this movie is great, if you like Johnny Cash, and even if you don't. Don't miss this one if you haven't seen it already. Just Queue It!
