Netflix Top 100 - 70. -The Town

I have to admit that I truly do not respect Ben Affleck as an actor, but in this film as both the director and the lead character he does a good job....for once.  A star of such great films as "Daredevil" and "Saving Christmas", not to mention "Reindeer Games", I was a little reluctant to go see this movie.  But after the first scene I was hooked.

Affleck plays a bank robber from an area of Boston known for its high crime rate and specifically bank robberies.  He has a great support cast here with Rebecca Hall playing a bank manager he falls in love with and Jeremy Renner who plays his life long pal, who you know is going to get fucked up right from the beginning of the movie.  Great supporting roles by Jon Hamm (Who spells their name like that anyway?) as the prick of an FBI agent chasing down the gang, and Peter Postlethwaite who is Affleck's boss and nemesis in the movie.  If you don't know who Peter Postlethwaite is, look up his images on Google and you'll recognize him instantly.  A great character actor and it was sad he passed on following this movie.

The plot line is well designed and it is characterized by loads of violence and great drama from the entire cast.  Why this one is number 70, I have no idea.  Definitely Queue It!
